The thermal performance of a window is determined by its Uw thermal transmission coefficient. It expresses the amount of heat passing through the window. The lower the Uw, the better the window's insulation.
Heat:
The solar factor of a window, Sw, represents the amount of solar heat passing through the window. The higher the Sw, the greater the heat gain through the window.
Light:
The light transmission of a window, TLw; the higher it is, the more the window contributes to natural lighting.
Acoustic:
The acoustic performance of a window is determined by its acoustic reduction index, RA,tr. It expresses a window's ability to reduce noise from road and rail traffic. The higher the RA,tr, the better the window protects against external noise.
